Epec Oy - Product Manager, Displays & Connectivity
Own the future of displays and connectivity at Epec, where customer needs, embedded technology and business priorities become solutions for demanding mobile machinery.
Epec Oy is a system supplier specializing in advanced electric / electronics for efficient, safe and connected NRMM non-road mobile machines and commercial vehicles. Being close to our customers is how we continuously co-create and innovate sustainable future technology solutions that make a difference. Epec works in cooperation with leading international machine manufacturers and belongs to the Ponsse Group. Our solutions are used in environments where reliability, safety and lifecycle performance are business-critical.
We are now looking for a Product Manager, Displays & Connectivity to take ownership of two strategically important product areas: operator displays and connectivity / telematics solutions for demanding mobile machinery.
This is a senior product role at the point where customer needs, market insight, embedded technology and business priorities become product decisions. You will help ensure that Epec’s products remain competitive, commercially relevant and technically feasible in the markets where we operate.
You will report directly to Janne Tarsa, Business Line Director, Control Systems.
Where business strategy meets embedded reality
As Product Manager, you will own the direction, competitiveness and lifecycle of Epec’s display and connectivity-related product areas.
This is not a narrow feature backlog role. You will lead product direction across several stakeholders and more than one business line, working closely with sales, business development, R&D, project managers, system architects, other product managers and OEM customers.
Success in this role requires the ability to create structure, lead through influence and communicate actively across business and engineering.
What you will own
You will be responsible for the product strategy, roadmap and lifecycle of Epec’s operator display and connectivity / telematics products.
In practice, this means that you will:
define and maintain product roadmaps based on customer needs, market development, regulatory requirements, technical feasibility and business priorities
manage the product lifecycle from market insight and product definition to launches, updates, maintenance and end-of-life decisions
build a clear view of customer needs, competitor positioning, market trends and regulatory development
translate business, customer and market needs into clear product requirements and development priorities
work closely with R&D, project managers and system architects to clarify priorities and resolve trade-offs between customer value, technical feasibility, cost, schedule and lifecycle needs
support sales and business development in customer discussions, RFQs, presentations and product positioning
contribute to launch planning, documentation, sales material and internal alignment
You will not carry direct P&L responsibility, but your decisions will influence product competitiveness, cost position and customer value. Product cost, lifecycle cost, pricing input, positioning and commercial relevance will therefore be important lenses in your work.
In addition you will support ECU Product Manager by managing competitiveness of ECUs which are in mature stage of their lifecycle like product cost, software upgrades, component obsolescence/EOL.
Software, connectivity and lifecycle services are becoming increasingly important in Epec’s offering. This role is central in turning that development into clear product direction and commercially relevant solutions.
Who’d be a match for this
We are looking for a product-minded professional who understands embedded technology and can operate confidently between customers, business and engineering.
You may come from an OEM, a Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier, or from a company building embedded products, industrial software or electronics for demanding environments. You do not need to have worked specifically with off-highway machines, but you should understand what it means to build technology that must work reliably in the field.
A background in product management, product ownership or a closely related role in embedded systems, industrial electronics, vehicle technology, machinery, automation or another technical B2B environment would be highly relevant.
A software-oriented background is especially valuable, as software plays an increasingly important role in these product areas. At the same time, you should understand enough about hardware and embedded development to discuss technical trade-offs credibly.
Experience from off-highway, agricultural, forestry, construction, mining, harbour equipment, heavy commercial vehicles or related supplier environments is a strong advantage. Understanding of displays, connectivity, telematics, machine communication, functional safety or cybersecurity is also highly relevant.
English is the working language in this role. Finnish language skills are considered a plus, but they are not required.
What sets you apart
You are at your best when there is no perfect answer yet. Customers have needs, engineering has constraints, sales needs clarity and the roadmap still needs to make business sense. You can hold these threads together and help the organisation move forward.
You can talk with engineers without losing the business context, and you can talk with sales or customers without oversimplifying the technical reality. You understand that great products require customer insight, engineering discipline, cost awareness and clear decision-making.
This is a communication-heavy role, so you are comfortable aligning stakeholders, challenging constructively and keeping important topics moving.
Recruitment process and practicalities
The role is hybrid and can be based flexibly in Finland. Epec has key sites in Finland in Tampere, Turku and Seinäjoki. Regular presence at Epec locations is expected especially during onboarding and when collaboration requires it.
The role includes travel to customers, Epec sites, fairs and business meetings mainly in Europe, the US and Asia. You should have readiness and willingness to travel as part of the role, approximately 10–20% of working time.
Notarec acts as Epec’s recruitment partner in this process. The application period is open until 16 August 2026, and interviews will take place during August. We will get back to all applicants as soon as possible and in any case by the end of August.
If you have questions about the role or the recruitment process, please contact Notarec’s recruitment team: Sofia Järnström at 044 745 4492 or sofia at notarec dot fi.
Due to the nature of Epec’s business and customer environments, the selected candidate may be subject to background or security-related checks during the recruitment process.
We are interested in hearing from people whose background may not match every single point, but who recognise themselves in the core of the role.
